If you are looking for classic bike insurance, compare a number of options and you may find that you obtain certain advantages: as it is wintertime, you may find that your bike is spending rather more time in the garage than on the road – classic bike insurance may recognize the fact that for seasonal and practical usage reasons, a classic bike may simply get used less and that should be reflected in premiums;
in the case of classic bike insurance, compare carefully what a policy uses as its definition of a classic bike, as this may vary from policy to policy and some definitions may be more applicable to your bike than others if your classic bike has a particularly high value, you may find that some motorcycle insurance policies require you to take additional security precautions (they may include things such as using tracking devices, additional immobilisers and perhaps burglar alarms on your garage etc);
some insurance providers may differentiate between classic bikes and vintage/antique machines – if you have any uncertainty over the categorisation of your bike, we will be only too pleased to offer our advice and guidance;
the cheapest motorcycle insurance for a classic bike may not turn out to be the cheapest for you in the long run if it fails to provide the cover you need in the event of problem – it is always a good idea to read carefully the detail of the cover provided by a policy rather than to become entirely preoccupied with a hunt for the cheapest insurance:
if you occasionally take your classic bike to shows and exhibitions where it may be on display, remember to check whether or not your policy covers such usage – some may not do so, particularly in situations where you are obtaining income or other commercial benefits from using your bike in such a fashion (you may or may not need some form of additional commercial use cover);
in the case of classic bike insurance, compare policies and you may find suitable insurance and at a cost-effective price – it may be a little bit of time very well spent.
